Senior Subject Matter Expert — Arabic Language and Instructional Technology — Remote
This is a great opportunity for an Arabic language expert with a knowledge of instructional technology to come in on the ground floor. We are a very small team, so you'll have the opportunity to directly contribute to the direction of our capabilities and company.
What you'll do
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Arabic language and instructional technology
- Conduct quality control and validation of Arabic learning materials and other content
- Develop Arabic learning and assessment materials
- Collect and organize data from instructional technology systems for student use and integration into downstream systems
- Provide domain expertise in instructional technology to help develop and test prototypes and production software
- Participate in planning and tracking of project tasks and schedules
- Potentially support the development of user guides and other documentation

What you'll need
In general, you should have:
- Expertise in the Arabic language
- Experience with second-language acquisition, education, or instructional technology
- An interest and the attention to detail needed to review, develop, and refine curriculum and assessments for students learning Arabic
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to quickly learn new tools and technology
Specific qualifications desired:
- Expert-level knowledge of the Arabic language as demonstrated through prior experience as an Arabic language specialist in some capacity
- Experience performing review and quality control of Arabic language content and English translations
- Expertise in instructional technology, and its use to facilitate language learning or assessment
- Experience providing feedback on the capabilities of software and making recommendations for improvement is desired
- Some exposure to software testing and validation is desired
- A master's degree in Instructional Technology, Information Technology, or other domain-relevant field, and at least 15 years’ relevant experience; bachelor's degree, and at least 17 years' relevant experience; or at least 21 years’ relevant experience
